Drink More Water
It’s simple but effective. Your body is composed of 60-65% water, so you need to make sure that you have enough water to maintain normal functions. Most people need about 10 cups (or half a gallon) of water a day. Some of that comes from food and beverages, but for best results, make sure to drink several full cups of water every day. Cut back on juices, sodas, and caffeinated drinks, too; these drinks contain useless substances that will be removed as waste, and can sometimes cost your body more water than they put in.
Eat More Fruits and Vegetables
Many Americans’ diets are full of compounds and nutrients our bodies have never interacted with before in our evolutionary history, like processed carbs and sugars. Fresh fruits and vegetables are what our species has lived on for thousands of years, and to maintain optimal health, that’s what we need to go back to. Add more greens and fruits to your diet to improve your health. You can also take “greens,” supplements of fruits, vegetables, and antioxidants if you’re having trouble adding more healthy fruits and vegetables to your plate.
Cut Down on Sugar
According to a recent study from the USDA, the average American consumes 20 teaspoons of refined sugar per day – that’s 134 pounds per year! The health effects are as devastating as they are obvious, including obesity, Type II Diabetes, dental caries, and more. Luckily, cutting out processed sugar is relatively easy. Cut back on foods like soft drinks, baked desserts, candy, and condiments. When you’re dying for something sweet, look for foods sweetened with apple juice or stevia instead of high-fructose corn syrup and sugar.
Take a Multivitamin
Vitamins today are a necessary supplement because our diets and lifestyles have changed a great deal from the conditions our bodies evolved to thrive in. Enjoy the Sunlight

We need at least 15 minutes a day of full-spectrum light (which indoor light doesn’t provide) for our best wellness. Just make sure that you use sunscreen before you soak up those rays!

Heart disease is the number 1 killer of adults in the United States, a statistic that comes directly from poor lifestyle choices. Keep your heart health by maintaining a healthy weight, eating well, exercising, and taking a high-quality multivitamin supplement. You should also refrain from smoking.
